I had a hollow Halloween weening myself off the drugs. Instead I was bobbing for apples. “An apple a day keeps the doctor away.” Although I got a pineapple. As I pined through all the memories. I was getting from treatment, but even with all those treats I still came out extremely bitter from all the skeletons in closet.
Yes, I never had a scarecrow in my yard. Have you ever tried counting the crows? They always come in flocks. There are just too many of them to ward off. And of course, they already have a bird’s eye view of your place. Then they get there with a ghostly greeting and do the monster mash with all your stuff. Next you know, they say don’t be a scary cat; eat, drink and be scary with me! We will have a fang-tastic night! I am surprised we have all lasted this long without a coffin. Most of the time it will get mummified and kept under wraps. Because your sickness brought shame to the family.
Either way rehab or some might call it the funny farm was quite the spell check. And if you don’t make it in it is probably because they had nobody to go with them. Help walk them through those doors. It is not really that scary of a haunted house. But they need the support and the treats. Not the ridiculed tricks of their past haunting them. This is a new leaf and we want them to leave with a clean slate. So, no more playing the blame game it only makes it worse. They weren’t themselves. They need help being healthy to make the healthy choices. They deserve don’t keep them in the dark. Help hold them accountable because you need them as much as they need you. So please don’t run screaming!
